One of the most vulnerable, problematic parts of the human body is the teeth. No one is free from getting cavities, and to prevent cavities, you have to brush teeth and floss, which are annoying to say the least, a few times every day for the rest of your life. And once they are damaged, there is no way to restore them. You would have to use fillings or crowns that are imperfect and deteriorate over time. Not to mention, that the treatment is expensive and painful.
If the cavity has advanced way too much and the tooth has rotten it needs to be pulled. The only option available right now for replacing missing teeth are implants and bridges (which come with their own set of issues)
Some medication, or illness cause teeth to rot. Medical malpractice (pulling the wrong tooth, pulling healthy teeth, pulling wisdom teeth that came out fine, orthodontic treatment) can also cause you to lose your teeth.
All these miseries could be forgotten, if we could just regrow/restore teeth, which some other animals can. Our body could do it too, but it is just that we do not know how to tell the cells to regrow the teeth, right? We did regrow teeth once, why not twice?
They've been reporting advances in this area since the 90s and probably before that too. Nothing has come of it yet. Only experiments on animals, but no clinical trials as of yet. So far we have heard of stem cells, ultrasound, and some medications.
Year after year more news come out that promise the technology will be available in the next couple of years.
Our only hope is that the technology becomes a reality, available and affordable within our lifetime.
Do you think scientists actually working hard on this subject? Will we ever benefit from the new technology before we die?
As always share your thoughts and experience in the comments.

I believe that they have had this technology for quite a while. However, many of them are corrupt and greedy so they would rather the general population pay for excessive fees than to be healed. It makes no sense! There is a man right now in his 30s who is living a healthy life from a kidney transplant, a kidney that was grown in a lab! They can grow bones, muscles and other body parts, yet it is withheld from humanity.
